Dear Friends,
Last year we asked for your help in funding an additional advocate to help us eliminate our 150 person waitlist. Your support was incredible. Thanks to people like you, as well as grants from the Notary Foundation and VanCity Credit Union, we were able to hire a part-time advocate for one year. In the past twelve months, our waitlist has been reduced from 150 to 70 people.
But our funding is only for one year. We are asking for your help to continue helping people like Michelle, Peter, James, David and Sally. Their stories follow. This year, our goal is to raise $70,000. With this money, we will ensure the people who have nowhere to turn get the help they need.
We will use your donation to make sure no one has to wait for help.
We want to let you know how we spend the money you give us. To the right is a chart that details a breakdown of our expenses. The vast majority of our funding is for advocacy services. We spend only six per cent on administration such as fundraising campaigns and office expenses.
You have helped TAPS in the past. Thank you for all you have done. We hope you can help us reach our fundraising goal.
