The Staff

TAPS has legal advocate paid staff who provide a free drop in service for people with tenancy and income support issues.

John Cooke is our tenancy advocate. Each month, John helps 120 people with information and summary advice about their rental situation. He represents between fourteen and sixteen arbitrations a month so that people can keep their homes.

Maria Montgomery is our Income Assistance advocate. Maria helps people access the Income Assistance that they are legally entitled to, including

Persons with Disability benefits
Crisis grants
Nutritional supplements
Emergency food, shelter, prescriptions and rudimentary dental care.

Maria can represent people at Income Assistance appeals.
